CraftMart Ore-Clay

The Iron Horizon Mug is crafted from crude ore clay sourced from iron-rich soil. When fired at high temperature, the minerals inside the clay rise to the surface and reveal fine, mottled iron speckles, giving the mug a rugged, stone-like texture.

Because this ore clay is harder and more difficult to shape, each cup requires slow, careful hand-forming. The result is a compact Japanese-style mug with a subtle two-tone “horizon” band: earthy clay below, soft glazed color above. The finish is quiet, refined, and full of small details that appear as you turn the cup in your hand.
